The Slow Road

Ballpoint, Posca paint pen, and Prismacolor pencil on cold press. Been working on this one in between tattoos for a few months, just chipping away a bit at a time. It’s only 7x5” but it’s been a weirdly busy and chaotic year. Seems like there’s something to be said for taking it slow when one still can, almost an act of protest in a society set to perpetually move faster, even if it’s in a dangerous direction. To me, this piece is a small embodiment of lessons around taking our time, being deliberate and discerning with our choices and actions, and taking a moment to reflect, and respond rather than react or rush.
